Kia ora! I’m Ted, the cheerful, cuddly founder of The Red Bow.
Born in Hong Kong, I migrated to New Zealand, where a wonderful family took me in. I was raised by Linda, a great woman with exceptional cooking skills and enjoyed life in picturesque Muriwai.
As fate would have it, my co-founder, Natalia came to visit Linda one day and we became fast friends. Although we went our separate ways, destiny brought us together again.
Months later, I went to stay with Natalia and we became inseparable. We quickly realised that we had a lot in common. Apart from savouring good honey, we both love making kids happy! We had loads of fun spreading joy to the people we met every day. Natalia and I dreamt of travelling around New Zealand and writing an educational kid’s book together. But as our passion grew, so did our vision.
The Red Bow was born to empower disadvantaged kids with the learning opportunities they need to pursue their dreams. Thank you for joining us on this journey, I’m excited to see where it takes us!

My right-hand buddy, Natalia, is just as passionate about bringing happiness to kids and helping them fulfil their potential.
Since arriving in New Zealand from Spain 10 years ago, Natalia has learned to communicate in a new language and built a career in IT. She’s strong, resilient and stands up for what she believes in.
One Friday night in September 2020, Natalia proposed that we build a charity with the aim of bringing joy, hope and opportunity to kids in need. Like me, she believes that every kid should have equal access to learning opportunities, regardless of their background.
Natalia has also worked as a tutor for The Community Place in Australia and participated in fundraising events such as Round The Bays and Pink Walk.
To her, a child’s smile is the most beautiful thing in the world and she’s on a mission to change as many lives as possible through education. I’m lucky to have her on my team!

Originally from northern India, Ankur has called New Zealand home since 2011. He joins The Red Bow driven by the passion to make "When I grow up, I want to be..." a reality for every child.
With expertise in accounting and revenue growth from his roles at Xero and Employment Hero, Ankur brings valuable skills to support TRB's mission. He believes education is the foundation for personal growth and societal contribution.
While new to formal charity roles, Ankur is excited to apply his professional experience to help TRB grow. Outside work, he enjoys tennis, learning jiu-jitsu, and cherishing time with his family.
Guided by the philosophy "Focus on doing your duty without worrying about the outcome", Ankur is eager to contribute his skills, global perspective, and enthusiasm to The Red Bow team.

Hi! My name is Alice, and I am thrilled to be a member of the Red Bow board, contributing to the incredible mission of turning “when I grow up, I want to be…” into a reality for every child. With a diverse corporate background in import trading, fundraising and product management, I am eager to leverage my skills and experience to support the impactful work The Red Bow is doing.
My passion for The Red Bow’s mission stems from a deep belief that every child deserves the chance to follow their dreams and build a brighter future, regardless of where they come from. I am incredibly driven to make a tangible difference in the lives of those we support.
In my spare time you can find me out on a run (always followed by coffee), spending time with my friends and family, or browsing the op shops for a deal! I am a lover of learning and naturally jump at any challenge that comes my way!

Hi my name is Natalie and I am the Secretary here at The Red Bow. I joined The Red Bow in July 2024. I believe every child should be given a fair shot at achieving their dreams.
Originally from the USA, I arrived in New Zealand to further my education in politics. And it's my love of education and the idea of trying to better oneself that sparks my joy for the mission of The Red Bow. With a background in administration in the nonprofit sector, I am excited to be able to share my skills organising The Red Bow.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking along various trails, through mountains and beaches, and observing the many beautiful animals that call New Zealand home.

Hi my name is Rachel and I am the Treasurer here at, The Red Bow. I joined The Red Bow in September 2023. My passion is to give children the opportunity to achieve their dreams.
With my finance background I wanted to give time to an amazing venture that aligns with my personal values, just like The Red Bow.
A little bit about me... I was born in the UK and have lived in New Zealand for the last decade. I have worked in a number of financial institutions both in London and here in Auckland. In my spare time, you can find me going on adventures with friends, family and my partner, drinking coffee at the local cafe or training for an endurance event. I completed an Ironman!
